More than 500 of central

Arkansas’ best young singers, selected by audition from 77 junior and senior high schools, will be at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock on Saturday for the Central Arkansas Choral Directors Association’s All-Region Choir Clinic. The day-long event culminates in a 6 p.m. performance with members of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra at Robinson Center Music Hall, West Markham Street and Broadway, Little Rock. The Old State House Museum,

300 W. Markham St., Little Rock, will help visitors travel back to the Federal military occupation of Little Rock, fall and winter of 1863-64, via a Civil War living history event, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday on the museum lawn. Events will feature youth programs, firing demonstrations at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. and re-creation of the 1864 Constitutional Convention at 11 a.m. and the 1864 election at 2 p.m. Attendees will receive a period-style newspaper replica.
