The US economy is addicted to war. While China manufactures all of our civilian swag, our major exports are arms, and our defense contractors control the media. As most of our foreign policy revolves around using US military might to soften worldwide targets for US corporations, there will never be a shortage of armed conflicts to propel our economic juggernaut ever downward on the hot, greased rails to hell. One of the dads at my kid's school wrote a really good book describing our war-driven economy. It's called, what else? "Addicted To War". Highly recommended for any citizens who prefer their country not be regarded worldwide as merchants of death.
