Children's Hospital to get $220,000 for mobile intensive care

Arkansas Children's Hospital will use a $220,000 grant to create and track the work of pediatric transport teams that transport an ill or injured child in those first critical moments.

The U.S. Health and Human Services Department is giving the funds to support clinical research on mobile intensive care for critically ill children. The Arkansas Children’s Hospital Research Institute will develop specialized pediatric transport teams and track outcomes of the patients, such as length of hospital stay and required therapeutic interventions.

Sens. Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor and Rep. Vic Snyder made the announcement, commending the hospital for its work and research.
