A weekend of glassware, bargains and flowers

— This weekend, browsers and buyers can sort through the glassware, pottery and kitchen items of decades ago as Arkansas Glasshoppers Inc. hosts the 24th annual Depression Era Glass Show and Sale. As reported in Thursday’s Arkansas Weekend section, the sale will be at the Hall of Industry at the State Fairgrounds and will be open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. The admission fee of $5 is good for both days.

“Shopaholics” also can spend the weekend indulging at the Junior League of Little Rock’s Bargain Boutique. The sale kicks off with a preview party, including food, drinks, an auction and first dibs on the merchandise, 6:30-9 p.m. today for $15. The main sale will be 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday. All activities will be at the Junior League of Little Rock Building, 401 S. Scott St. Admission is free.

The Statehouse Convention Center is the site of the annual Arkansas Flower and Garden Show, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $8, $5 for ages 60 and older and $1 for children 6-12. Three-day passes are $10. Guests can also receive a $1 discount with a ticket stub from the Home Show. Two additional events — An Evening With Susie Coelho, 6 p.m. Friday; and Lunch With the Southern Living Plant Collection, 12:15 p.m. Sunday — will require special tickets.
