Fire causes some damage at White Hall High

A blaze at White Hall High School ignited Friday after at a part of the building where construction crews were working, according to reports.

Firefighters were battling the blaze this afternoon. Damage wasn't widespread, but a room – a computer and science lab – was said to have sustained damage.

Superintendent Larry Smith told the media that the structural damage wasn't thought to be significant. Inspectors will visit the school to make an official determination.

About 725 students attend the high school, which is to open for the new school year in mid-August.
