Youth area at LR’s Main Library closing for renovation

— The Central Arkansas Library System’s youth services department at the Main Library in downtown Little Rock will be closed Monday through Aug. 8 for renovation, a spokesman for the library system said.

Regular operation and programming will resume on Aug. 9 or when planned updates are complete. Updates in the program room will include newflooring and ceiling materials and a puppet stage. The rest of the Main Library will remain open while the area is renovated, said Susan Gele, the spokesman for the system.

While the youth services department is closed, patrons may use any other Central Arkansas Library System location for checking out items for children. Items checked out from the Main Library may bereturned at any branch, Gele said.

Central Arkansas Library System branches in Little Rock include: the Main Library, 100 Rock St.; Dee Brown Library, 6325 Base Line Road; Fletcher Library, 823 N. Buchanan St.; Terry Library, 2015 Napa Valley Drive; Thompson Library, 38 Rahling Circle; Williams Library, 1800 Chester St.; and McMath Library, 2100 JohnBarrow Road.
