LITTLE ROCK — One person was killed Sunday in an automobile accident in Jonesboro and another was killed Monday in an accident south of Hope, the Arkansas State Police reported.
In Jonesboro, Orneda Myers, 90, died Sunday after driving into a condominium building at Greenbriar and Harvester drives, according to a state police report.
Myers, a Jonesboro resident, was headed west on Harvester in a 2001 Cadillac at 5:50 p.m. when she crossed Greenbriar, ran off the road and struck the building, the report says. Myers was taken to St. Bernards Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
On Arkansas 29, about 12 miles south of Hope, Susan Smith, 46, of Ashdown was killed in a head-on collision with a tractor-trailer Monday morning, according to a state police report.
Smith was headed south on Arkansas 29 at 6:50 a.m. when her vehicle swerved into the northbound lane and collided with the truck, the report states.
Danny Gilbert, 58, of Brookland, Texas, the driver of the truck, was taken to Medical Park Hospital in Hope. Information about his condition was unavailable Monday.
