2 from Arkansas arrested in Wyoming man's death

— Two more men have been charged with killing a Casper man during a robbery attempt.

Nineteen-year-old Dustin J. Doyle and 23-year-old Edward Lee Hays were charged with first-degree murder Thursday, a day after 18-year-old Jonathon Mahaffey was charged.

Police say the three set out to rob someone to get money or drugs and decided on Chad Ferguson. According to court documents, Ferguson tried to flee and was found shot in the back.

Police say it’s not clear who pulled the trigger.

All three suspects have criminal histories. Hays was convicted of aggravated assault in Arkansas and has been arrested for assault in California and Wyoming. Doyle has been arrested for assault in Arkansas and Mahaffey has been arrested twice for battery in Wyoming.

According to the Baxter County sheriff's office, Hays has been a wanted fugitive since late 2007 when he fled the state to avoid arrest on three outstanding felony warrants for terroristic threatening, aggravated assault, and theft of property. The sheriff's office said Doyle is wanted on a pickup order from the Circuit Court – Juvenile Division that was issued in March.
