“It’s was a great experience to play with these dudes,” said Harris, who recently signed with Houston. “I’ve been working on my shot and it was going good tonight. It didn’t hurt at all that I didn’t start out because I knew when I got into the game I was going to make an impact.”

DeShone McClure of Jacksonville was selected the Outstanding Player for the East while Kikko Haydar of Fayetteville was named Outstanding Player for the West. McClure scored 10 points while Haydar finished with 11 points and f ive assists.

“The third group did a really good job of closing the gap,” East Coach James Bates of Conway said. “We starting attacking the basket and sharing the ball a little more.”

Spencer Caraway of Melbourne made two free throws and Michael Perkins of Earle made an inside basket to get the East started in the fourth period. Taylor Cochran tried to slow the East momentum with a three-pointer but McClure hit a three-pointer and Harris followed his own miss with a basket to put the East ahead 58-51.

McClure said playing with Harris on the Arkansas Wings helped them with their chemistry Thursday.

“We were on the bench talking about what we were going to do once we got into the game,” McClure said. “I told [Harris] I was coming straight to him and said he was ready to change into a beast mode, and that’s what he did.”

Former Fayetteville teammates Haydar and Cochran helped the West to a 32-24 lead while playing with different units.
