Fire destroys car in River Market

— Around 3:20 p.m. Saturday, smoke could be seen from behind Gusano’s restaurant on President Clinton Avenue in Little Rock as a 2003 Honda Accord caught fire and was destroyed.

The car was parked between Gusano’s and the Main Library in a place where employees of restaurants in the River Market typically park but aren’t supposed to.

Little Rock Fire Marshal Harry Noble said the fire didn’t appear to be intentional but said he couldn’t determine a cause.

“The tires caught fire,” he said. “It’s kind of an oddity, but probably a mechanical malfunction.”

The car belonged to Terra Grigg, a server at Gusano’s, who said the car had been parked there for two hours.
