Escapee from work release caught in Texarkana

Arkansas prison officials have captured a 20-year-old man who walked away from a work release job in Texarkana.

Prisons spokeswoman Dina Tyler says Daniel L. Carr was caught about 8:30 p.m. Monday in Texarkana. Tyler alleged Carr was trying to break into a church to spend the night.

Tyler says Carr will remain in custody in Texarkana overnight and appear before a judge Tuesday morning.

Carr was sentenced in 2008 to 15 years in prison for theft and commercial burglary convictions in Stone County.

Tyler says Carr could have been eligible for parole on Aug. 13, 2011. He started his work-release job on June 16.
