PRAISE FOR PIE

Charlotte Bowls was featured in the June issue of Southern Living magazine when her coconut pie, served at Charlotte’s Eats and Sweets, 290 Main St., Keo, was named one of the South’s best pies by the magazine. Tasters at Southern Living sampled more than 70 pies for the story, which is also available online south ernliving.com/travel.

Charlotte’s Pie Secret: “I use a Crisco-based crust.

When making the recipe that’s on the can, never add extra flour - too much flour toughens a crust.”

CUPCAKE CONTEST
