Two state legislators who failed to make the June 8 Democratic runoff for an east Arkansas congressional seat are backing Chad Causey’s bid.
Causey’s campaign on Wednesday announced that Rep. David Cook and Sen. Steve Bryles endorsed Causey in the 1st District runoff against former state Sen. Tim Wooldridge. Causey is the former chief of staff for Rep. Marion Berry, who represents the 1st District but is retiring at the end of the year.
Republicans on May 18 nominated Rick Crawford for the congressional seat. He will face the winner of the June 8 runoff between Causey and Wooldridge.
