Man jailed in bank robbery

— A Jonesboro man faces aggravated robbery and theft charges in a Tuesday bank robbery in the Craighead County seat.

Justin Miller, 30, was charged with aggravated robbery and theft of property over $2,500 in Craighead County District Court on Friday afternoon, said detective Jason Simpkins of the Jonesboro Police Department.

Miller also was charged with arson in an unrelated case.

He is being held in the Craighead County jail in lieu of $500,000 bond.

Police said Miller robbed the branch of BancorpSouth on Parker Road in southwest Jonesboro on Tuesday. A bank security camera showed a man wearing a camouflage ski mask and jacket entering the bank and threatening employees with a handgun.

The robber fled with an undisclosed amount of money. Employees saw the man drive away in a sport utility vehicle and described the vehicle to police.

Patrol officers spotted a vehicle fitting that description on Arkansas 18 on the eastern edge of Jonesboro on Wednesday and arrested Miller.
