A ROYAL TEA Garden Club has bloomin’ good time with Londoner

— Todd Longstaffe-Gowan, gardens adviser to Hampton Court Palace and vice chairman of the London Historic Parks and Gardens Trust, charmed hundreds of members of the Little Rock Garden Club and their guests during a tea, lecture and book signing Nov. 11.

Longstaffe-Gowan was joined by noted Arkansas landscape expert P. Allen Smith at the event at Chenal Country Club. Many of the guests - almost exclusively women - wore elaborate hats in honor of Queen Elizabeth.

Longstaffe-Gowan’s current projects range from the creation of a new garden within the old walls of a fortified house on the island of Hydra in Greece to the preparation of a conservation strategy for the gardens at Kensington Palace.

During the tea, Longstaffe-Gowan signed copies of his book, The Gardens and Parksat Hampton Court Palace.
