SUNDAY

Choir Concert

HOT SPRINGS — The National Park Community College Singers, the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts Choir and the Parish Choir of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church will join forces to perform the famous Mass in G by Franz Schubert at 3:30 p.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. The performance will be conducted by Denise Edds, choral director/coordinator of the music program at NPCC, with Lynn Payette, choral director at both ASMSA and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, on the organ. The combined choruses will be joined by James Arthur Smith and Charlotte Brown on violins. Soloists for the performance will be Gay Strakshus, soprano; William Higgins, bass; and Matthew Newman, tenor.

Open House

HOT SPRINGS — Hot springs artist Barbara Cade will host an open house from 1-3 p.m. at Black Rock Studio, 262 Hideaway Hills Drive in Hot Springs. The public is invited. MONDAY

Piano Concert

ARKADELPHIA — The piano division of Henderson State University’s music department will give a special Chopin Celebration Concert to commemorate the 200th birth anniversary of the composer, who was born in 1810. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Harwood Recital Hall. Admission is free. Students and piano faculty will share the stage and perform the entire 24 Preludes by Chopin. Also in the program will be the two Chopin concertos, performed by Henderson faculty members Hee-Kyung Juhn and May Tsao-Lim.

Library Photography Club

BENTON — The library photography club will meet at 6 p.m. at the Bob Herzfeld Memorial Library in Benton. The group is for adults 18 and older who want to learn more about the art of photography and editing photos. Beginners are welcome, and attendees are encouraged to bring their cameras. TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY

Smoked Hams, Turkeys

MALVERN — The Methodist Men of St. Paul United Methodist Church, at East Mill and Cherry Lane in Malvern, will smoke 14- to 17-pound Petit Jean hams and 8- to 9-pound turkey breasts on Tuesday and Wednesday for Thanksgiving. Prices for turkey breasts are $40 for a whole and $20 for a half. Hams are $50 for a whole and $28 for a half. To place an order, call (501) 337-7364 or (501) 337-7769. Pickup times are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday. The United Methodist Women will have a bake sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday.

WEDNESDAY

Princess Movie Marathon

BENTON — A princess movie marathon will begin at 11:15 a.m. at the Bob Herzfeld Memorial Library. Moviegoers will have an opportunity to judge the artwork from the monthlong Princess Art Contest, and popcorn and drinks will be provided by the library. Royal attire is encouraged.
