WINIFRED FOSTER, age 94, of North Little Rock, Ark ., peacefully returned to her heavenly home, Saturday, November 20, 2010. She was a successful, respected, popular and widely known businesswoman for 60-plus years. She was instrumental in helping write a book on the history of North Little Rock.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne and son, Bryant. Mrs.Foster is survived by four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

ANNA MARIE HAASER, 83, of Little Rock, passed away Sunday,November 21, 2010. She was born on the Koenigseder farm near Scranton in Logan County, Ark., on September 10, 1927, the youngest of ten children, to Mathias George and StephaniaKern Koenigseder. She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church. Mrs. Haaser sold Studio Girl Cosmetics for 30 years and was the number one sales representative in the country. In her retirement years, her greatest joy was volunteering in the Kindergarten and Second Grade classes at Holy Souls School.

Preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 63 years, Richard A. Haaser, son, Richard Michael and nine siblings, Matt, George, Lena, John, Mart, Ben, Rose, Bert and Pete, she is survived by a son, Bob (Kay) of Irving, Texas; daughters, Mildred Pearce (Pat) and Theresa Haaser, of Little Rock; five grandchildren, Bobby (Stephanie), Christie (Felix) and Elizabeth Haaser and Ricky (Melissa) and Matthew Pearce; and two greatgrandchildren, Lathan Pearce and Sarah Ann Marie Haaser.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 24 at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church, 1003 North Tyler St., celebrated by Msgr. Lawrence A. Frederick. Interment will follow at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. ALFRED KISNER, 81, of North Little Rock, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Baptist Springhill Medical Center in North Little Rock. He was born on January 7, 1929 in Hayes, Kansas; he was the son of Ignatz Kisner and Katherine Gable Kisner. Alfredwas a retired accountant for the Arkansas Highway Department, and a retiree of the United States Navy after 21 years of service; he will be remembered by many, for his love of playing golf, joking around, and taking great care of his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, eight siblings, and a son Kenny Kisner. Survivors include his wife Gerri Kisner of North Little Rock; daughters Lana Hughes and Anita Dotson; grandchildren Aaron Hughes, Carly Garner, Jason Hensel, and Lincoln Nail; great-grandchildren John, Ethan and Sarah Nail.

NELLIE LOIS KUMPE, 86, of Little Rock, passed away Monday, Nov. 22, 2010. She was born Oct. 11, 1924, in Little Rock, Ark., to the late Joe and Faye Kumpe. Nellie was employed at Southwestern Bell for over 40 years. She enjoyed being with her family and was a lifetime member of Ironton Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and Carl Kumpe; and one sister, Lela Johnson. Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Judy Smith (Wayne) of Benton, Ark., Chuck Kumpe (Barbara) of Jacksonville, Ark., Tony Kumpe of Little Rock and Douglas Johnson of Tampa, Fla.; sister-in-law Dovie Kumpe of Little Rock; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

WILBUR DOYLE WALDRON, age 96, of Little Rock passedaway Nov. 21, 2010. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Genevieve M. Waldron; son, Stephen K. Waldron of Little Rock; his parents, James and Cecelia Waldron of Glenwood, Ark.; and two brothers, Cloyd D. Waldron of Mobile, Ala., and Drew D. Waldron of Las Cruses, N.M.

He is survived by two sons, Wilbur Waldron Jr. of Tulsa, Okla., and William W. Waldron and his wife Cynthia of Little Rock; and four grandchildren Michael, Andrew, Joanna, Wesley and one great-grandchild Hunter.

He was a 1941 graduate of the University of Arkansas School of Medicine with an internship in the Santa Rosa Hospital at San Antonio. He was a WWII veteran, having served in the Army Medical Corps though major battles in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe.From 1948-1971 he practiced medicine privately in Dallas, Texas, in his specialty, internal medicine and cardiology. While in Dallas he served on the board of trustees for the Methodist C.C. Young Home for the Elderly and volunteered for many years as its resident physician. In 1972 he returned to his home state of Arkansas. In 1988, at the age of 74, he retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital in Little Rock. He continued working through the age of 93 as a physician with the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) in Little Rock. He was devoted to medicine, respected by his patients and coworkers and was much loved by his family and friends.

The family wishes to express their thanks and appreciation to Dr. Abdelal (Dr. “A”) and the staffs of Chenal Rehab, Odyssey Healthcare and UAMS. ALEXANDER - Louis M. Crain, 84, of Alexander, died November22, 2010 in Little Rock. He was born September 16, 1926 in Camden, Arkansas to the late Clint and Alta Martha (Lampkin) Crain. After attending Chidester High School, he was drafted andserved in the U.S. Navy from December 28, 1944 to November 30, 1946 and in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1953. He was of the Baptist faith and a self-employed carpenter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mazelia “Bugs” Crain, four brothers, Calvin, Wallace, Leonard and Orland and one sister, Alieen Stewart. Survivors include two sons, David Crain of Alexander and Bill Cookson, of Sheridan; two daughters, Barbara Tolson (Judd) of Little Rock and Martha Wherry (Carroll) of Greenbrier; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

BENTON - Lt. Col. Farris D. Fortner, U.S. Air Force (Ret.), age85, of Benton, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2010. He was born March 12, 1925, in North Little Rock, Arkansas, to the late Paul and Fay Fortner. Farris was a graduate ofNorth Little Rock High School and Eastern Oregon College. During his service in the U.S Air Force, he was awarded many medals including, the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight, the Korean War Service Medal, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal and the Small Arms Expert Marksman Ribbon. As a fighter pilot, he flew over 100 combat missions in Korea. Farris was also a veteran of the Air National Guard 154th TAC Recon. Sq. LRAFB. Following his military service, Farris was a private pilot for T.J. Raney & Sons and Stephens Investment Inc. He piloted the “Angel One”, Arkansas Children’s Hospital’s first air transport system for critically ill infants and children. He also piloted an airplane in the dedication ceremonies of the Greers Ferry Dam and War Memorial Stadium. Farris was Past-President of the Tanglewood Property Owners Association and was a founder and Past-President of Indian Springs Baptist Church XYZ Ministry.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Doris Jean Moseley Fortner; one greatgrandchild, Riley Daniel Moore; and brother, Aaron Fortner. Survivors include three daughters, Jeanne Sykes, Nancy Sligh, and Darlene Bouillion (Steve); seven grandchildren, Dr. Jeffery Sykes (Sarah), John David Sykes (Sheri), Jason Sykes (Tanna), Kale Sligh, Trey Moore, Jeremy Moore (Tiffany), and Chad Moore; and seven greatgrandchildren, Jared Sykes, Joel Sykes, Jonathan Sykes, Peyton Sykes, Noah Moore, Bryce Moore, and Dakota Moore.

FORT SMITH - William R. Walker, 85, of Fort Smith departed this life on November 21, 2010 in Fort Smith. He was born in Fort Smith, Ark., on December 19, 1924, attended Fort Smith Schools, he was a graduate of University of Arkansas with a BSBA, after serving three years in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific. He started his career in 1950 with Stephens Brothers Construction doing work for a Gas Distribution Company in eastern Arkansas. In 1954 he was employed by Arkansas Oklahoma Gas Company where he later became President. In 1978 he left the Gas Company and became the fulltime President of Stephens Production Company. His work career lasted over 60 years as he was still coming to the office until late August 2010. Much of his career was spent exploring for Natural Gas in Arkansas and Oklahoma.He served on the Board of Stephens Inc. for many years and he also served at various times as President of St. Edward Development Corporation, St. Edward Board of Trustees, Fort Smith Chamber of Commerce, University of Arkansas Foundation at Fort Smith, Boys Club and Harbor House and served on numerous Boards for the Salvation Army, Town Club, Hardscrabble Country Club, State Chamber of Arkansas, and Merchants National Bank. His lifelong hobbies were hunting (especially quail), fishing and gardening.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara J. Walker, one son, Bill Steve Walker and wife Lynn of Fort Smith; one daughter, Jane Klein and husband Henry of Memphis, Tenn., five grandchildren, Max Klein, Alex Klein, Betsy Walker, Lee Walker, and Bill Karsten IV. He was preceded in death by his parents S.R. and Anne McCarty Walker.

Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at 10 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. HOT SPRINGS - Richard L. (Rick) Boyd, 63, of Hot Springs,left this life on November 20, 2010. Rick, an avid horseracing fan, had an expansive love of life and a distinctive sense of humor. He was an unselfish and loving husband, father, brotherand friend. Owner of Best Sign Company.

Rick is survived by his wife of 42 years, Billie, his daughter, Jami Boyd, brothers William Boyd, Jr. (Sina), Doug Boyd (Penny), sister Kathy Jordan (Lynn), sisters-inlaw Willa Brewer, Wanda Perry and Dot Saville (Marvin), a host of nephews and nieces and many loving friends.

JONESBORO - O.C. Pickens Jr. passed away peacefully athis home surrounded by his family Monday, November 22, 2010. “Daddo,” as he was affectionately known to his family, was 94 years old. Mr. Pickens was born to O.C. Pickens, Sr. andBrilla Croom Pickens on January 5, 1916 in Clover Bend, Lawrence County, Ark. Mr. Pickens worked first as a school teacher, then later as a sales manager for various companies. He was the manager of the Pic-Walsh freight Company in his hometown of Jonesboro for many years. Mr. Pickens life was devoted to the church, his wife, Catherine, hisfamily and friends. He was an elder for many years in the Downtown Church of Christ in Jonesboro. “Daddo” was 27 years old with a wife and two small boys at home when, in 1943, he was called to service in World War II. His artillery company immediately found itself in the thick of many battles, most notably the “Battle of the Bulge.”

Mr. Pickens was preceded in death by his mom and dad, and brothers, Hank, Ebb and Don Pickens, and his cherished grandson, Stephen McDaniel. He is survived by his loving wife of over 74 years, Catherine “Toots” Blanton Pickens, sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Sue Pickens of Little Rock and Dick and Paula Pickens of Jonesboro; daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Larry McDaniel of Paragould and a brother, John of Edmond, OK. Six grandchildren: Mike Pickens of Little Rock, Sandy Pickens Noble of Rogers, Karen Pickens Jones, Paul and John Pickens of Jonesboro, Susan McDaniel Brittingham of Paragould and 11 great-grandchildren.

LONOKE - Troy Samuel “Papa” Burgess, 91, was able togo to his Heavenly home on Sunday morning, November 21, 2010.

Troy was preceded in death by his parents, John and Alice Burgess, 18 brothers and sisters, and hiswife of 66 years, Mary Elizabeth Burgess. He is survived by three daughters, Peggy Moore and husband, Ben, Sandra Pawlowski and husband, Jimmie, and Deborah Roark; four grandchildren, Monte Moore and wife, Mitzi, Melanie Hassen and husband, Randy, Stacy Pawlowski, and Courtney Reed and husband, Nick; and five great-grandchildren, Hunter Moore, Holton Moore, Kate Hassen, Karly Hassen, and Samuel Reed.

Troy was a World War II Navy veteran. He retired from the Little Rock Fire Department as District Chief with 42 years of service. Troy was a charter member of Roberson Baptist Church. He loved woodworking and being outside doing anything. His family was the light of his life and he loved spending time with his family laughing and loving.

Those that had the privilege to be around him were always greeted with a smile and a “Y’ all alright?". His love for God and all of the people around him was apparent in everything that he did. His personality could shine through anywhere.

MORRILTON - Bonnie Sue Duvall Sensabaugh of Morrilton left us to be with her savior on November 22, 2010, after fighting a brave battle against cancer. She was born March 12, 1943, in Hattieville, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Ellen Norman Duvall. She was of the Church of Christ faith and a long time member of the HardingStreet Church of Christ. She was a graduate of Wonderview High School and Morrilton Beauty College. A profession she undertook for several years. She was retired from Green Bay Packaging-Arkansas Kraft Division, after 25 years of service.

She is survived by her loving husband of 47 1/2 years, Joe Darvon Sensabaugh; daughters, Kelli (Buddy) Gibson of Perry, Missy (Johnny) Garrett of Plumerville, Sue (Mark) Andrews of Morrilton; son Joseph (Lisa) Sensabaugh of Wonderview; granddaughters, Jessica and Haley Gibson, Abby Sensabaugh and Alexa Andrews; grandsons, Josh and Seth Sensabaugh, Taylor and Jason Garrett, and Austin Andrews; brothers, Harold Duvall (Peggy) of Granberry, Texas, twin brother, Don Duvall of Lake Overcup, Morrilton, and Wendell Duvall of Conway; sisters, Lorene Stroud (Carroll Don) of Macedonia, Iva Jean Burns (James) of Solgohachia, and Martha Reynolds, of Morrilton; one sister-in-law, Nell Duvall of Dale, Texas; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Debra Sensabaugh of Russellville and Boband Fran Brents of Hattieville; also a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, E.B., Milburn, and Billy Duvall.

Her family and grandchildren were the love of her life. She was so proud of each and every one of them and what they had achieved in life. She especially enjoyed the grandchildren and all the sports that they were involved in, especially the basketball games. She instilled in them all to be good in life and to pursue their dreams. To love and be loved and to trust in the Lord.

MOUNT IDA - Jane Swindle Whittington, age 84, died Novembers 20, 2010 at Mount Ida, Ark. She was born on November 17, 1916, to the late Sol and Nina Swindle. A graduate of the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville in 1947, she began her teaching career. She was a renowned retired high school teacher with a combined total of 45 years service for Mount Ida, Anchorage, Alaska and Caddo Hills School Districts. She was a faithful member of the Mount Ida United Methodist Church since 1940.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill D. Whittington and her brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Toogie Swindle. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve Whittington (Sally) and Joe Whittington (Gladys) of Carrollton, Texas, three grandchildren, Emily, Grant and Tyler, her sister, Beverly Campbell, and several nieces and nephews.

Jane loved reading and the library was her passion. She served as President of the Friends for the Montgomery Co. Library for more than 25 years. Upon her requestthere will be no funeral.
