— Police arrest man

in five burglaries

A homeless man was arrested Monday in the burglary of five houses in Little Rock.

Nico Daniels, 20, was charged with five counts of burglary and four counts of theft after police stopped his vehicle for a traffic violation at 10:37 a.m. at Stagecoach and Herndon roads, Little Rock police Lt. Dana Jackson said.

At the time of the stop, police had a warrant for Daniels’ arrest in the Sept. 1 theft of jewelry, coins and a television from a house at 1902 Junior Deputy Road, Jackson said.

During questioning, Daniels told police he had also burglarized houses at 6801 Talmage Drive, 4910 Westwood Ave., 11615 Birchwood Drive and 9600 Temple Drive, Jackson said. Further details about those burglaries were not available Monday evening.

Daniels also was charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession after officers found less than an ounce of the drug in Daniels’ vehicle, Jackson said. Daniels was also charged with driving on a suspended license, Jackson said.

He was being held Monday evening in the Pulaski County jail in lieu of $30,750 bond.
