Freeze to speak at LR Touchdown Club

Arkansas State offensive coordinator Hugh Freeze will speak at noon today at the weekly meeting and season finale of the Little Rock Touchdown Club in the Embassy Suites hotel.

Freeze was the high school coach for Michael Oher, current offensive lineman for the Baltimore Ravens who was featured in the movie “The Blindside.”

Annual membership to the Little Rock Touchdown Club is $50. Lunch, which begins at 11 a.m., is $15 for members and $25 for non-members. Those who do not wish to eat may attend for $10.

This is the last meeting for the year.

Carpenter signs with Abilene Christian

Luke Carpenter of Little Rock has signed to play for Abilene Christian (Texas).

Carpenter is a three-time state champion for Arkansas Baptist. His older brothers Alex and Adam Carpenter are both on the Abilene Christian team.

Corbin Renner, also of Arkansas Baptist, signed with the school as well. Renner is a three-time all-state player.
