— A Little Rock street sweeper was destroyed after it caught fire while it was being driven Wednesday morning in a west Little Rock neighborhood.

It happened about 10 a.m. on Castle Rock Cove, said Little Rock Fire Department Capt. Jason Weaver.

The operator initially reported heavy black smoke coming from beneath the vehicle, Weaver said. By the time the first fire crew arrived, the sweeper was "heavily involved," he said.

The flames reportedly moved from the sweeper to its debris compartment, producing heavy black smoke and destroying the vehicle in the process.

No one was injured.
