Grants awarded to 12 Arkansas cities, counties

The Arkansas Economic Development Commission has awarded grants to 12 Arkansas cities and counties for assistance programs and improvement projects.

The grants range from $194,575 to the city of Hardy to expand a library to $244,880 to the city of Mena for improvements to an assisted living center.

Other cities receiving funding are Lonoke, Ash Flat, Gould, Strong, Mansfield and Wilmar. Counties on the list are Saline, Independence, Pope and Clark.

The total grants are about $2.5 million and come from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Community Block Grant program.
