LR fatality’s driver hit 2 other cars, police say

— The man who caused a fatal car accident while traveling the wrong way on a one-way street in downtown Little Rock early Sunday had also struck two other vehicles seconds earlier but told police he did not remember doing that, according to accident reports released by Little Rock police Monday.

Jeremy Farr, 23, of Jacksonville, was arrested on charges of felony negligent homicide and driving while intoxicated in the head-on collision on East Eighth Street that killed Ivory Warmack, 22, of Little Rock. He also faces two counts of leaving the scene of a property damage accident, as well as charges of careless and prohibited driving and driving on a suspended license.

According to the accident reports, Farr, driving a Chevrolet Silverado, was headed the wrong way on West Eighth Street about 2 a.m. Sunday when he crossed Broadway, striking the front bumper of a southbound Chevrolet C/K pickup and the rear of a northbound Cadillac Seville.

Farr then continued east down West Eighth Street as the drivers of the Cadillac and C/K pickup followed him in their vehicles, the reports say. Just east of Main Street, he crashed head-on into a Toyota Camry.

Warmack, a passenger in the Camry, was taken to UAMS Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 2:37 a.m. The Camry’s driver, Cori McReynold, 21, of Little Rock, was taken to the hospital for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Jazmine Lewis, 29, of North Little Rock, the driver of the Cadillac, was not injured, nor was Williams Briggs, 74, of Little Rock, the driver of the C/K pickup. Farr also was not injured.

Lewis told police that Farr attempted to back up after crashing into the Camry and that she pulled in behind him to block him in.

Police said in the reports that Farr “did not seem to be aware that he had been involved in an accident” and told them he did not recall striking any vehicles at West Eighth and Broadway. His blood-alcohol level was found to be 0.106. The legal limit in Arkansas in 0.08.

Little Rock District Judge Alice Lightle on Monday set Farr’s bond at $25,000. He was being held in the Pulaski County jail late Monday afternoon.
