Woman shot inside Jacksonville residence

— Jacksonville police are looking for a shooter who fired upon and hit a Jacksonville woman while she was inside a residence on Ruth Ann Drive late Wednesday night.

Martina Kimbrel, 24, was flown by helicopter to a Little Rock hospital with a gunshot wound to the left side of her upper back, Jacksonville Police Department spokesman April Kiser said. It happened about 11:50 p.m. at 907 Ruth Ann Drive

Kimbrel is in stable condition and is expected to recover.

"She is alert and doing good," Kiser said.

Authorities are unsure if the shooter was on foot or in a vehicle. Kimbrel reportedly didn't know why anyone would target her.

"She said she did not have any enemies that she knew of," Kiser said.

Kimbrel's boyfriend and two small children were in the home at the time, but no one else was injured, Kiser said. A wall, kitchen cabinets, stove and hall closet were damaged, Kiser said, adding multiple shots were fired.
