Ark. AG reports receiving $27K in trips in 2010

Attorney General Dustin McDaniel is reporting that he received more than $27,000 in travel, meals, hotel accommodations and other expenses for trips he accepted from outside groups last year.

McDaniel on Monday reported the nine trips on his annual financial disclosure statement. They include more than $19,000 for a trip he took to Asia through the Aspen Institute in late July. He also went on trips paid for by the Democratic Attorneys General Association, National Governors Association for Best Practices and the Conference of Western Attorneys General.

Monday is the deadline for elected officials to file the reports. Senate President Paul Bookout reported that the Southern Legislative Conference paid $8,271 for a September trip to China. Former Lt. Gov. Bill Halter reported accepting four trips totaling more than $3,600.
