LITTLE ROCK — Public comment will be sought on a pending water permit for the John W. Turk Jr. Power Plant in Fulton at a hearing later this month, the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality said Wednesday.
The hearing will begin at 6 p.m. June 27 at the Rapert Library Auditorium at the University of Arkansas Community College in Hope.
At issue is a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit that would allow Southwestern Electric Power Company to discharge water used in the cooling process into the Little River.
