— U.S. Representative Steve Womack encouraged Northwest Arkansas residents to lend a hand in the relief effort underway in Joplin, Mo. following Sunday's devastating tornado.

“My heart goes out to the residents of the greater Joplin area in the aftermath of Sunday’s unfortunate tornado. Our prayers are with the victims and their families. I encourage our business community, churches, and volunteers to do their part to ensure Joplin makes a full recovery from this devastation and I know the great people of Arkansas’ Third District will respond to their needs in a special way. That’s what neighbors do for one another.” — Steve Womack
