LITTLE ROCK — Two people have been arrested in the shooting death of a janitor at a Searcy business.
Devonte Tre Nelson, 19, and Maurice Andre Alexander Jr., 20, are both being held without bond in the killing of 24-year-old Zachary Mitchell, who was found on Oct. 23 at Nephrology Associates. Police say Mitchell was shot once in the chest.
Alexander was arrested in Searcy. Nelson was arrested in Lenexa Kan. Police say he was first detained on an unrelated burglary charge and then held in Mitchell's death after being questioned by Searcy investigators.
Police say formal charges of capital murder are expected to be filed by Prosecuting Attorney Chris Raff.
