SARAH MARIE HASTINGS - SHEA ROBERT MATHEWS

— The Cathedral of St. Andrew was the setting at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, for the marriage of Sarah Marie Hastings and Shea Robert Mathews. The Rev. Erik Pohlmeier officiated.

Parents of the bride are Paula and Lloyd Hastings of Beebe. She is the granddaughter of Ila Mae Self of Hot Springs, the late Peggy and Col. Joe Franklin Hastings of Beebe and the late Paul Black of Jonesboro.

The groom is the son of Christine and G. Christopher Mathews Jr. of Little Rock. His grandparents are Junelva Rosemary Johnson and the late Ervin Roman Donzal, both of Chicago, and the late Rosemary and George Christopher Mathews of Mundelein, Ill.

The altar was centered with an arrangement of white roses, lilies and feathers in a purple vase. Music was by organist Allan Pieroni and the St. Andrews Quartet.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a strapless trumpet gown with a net overlay embellished with reembroidered lace, metallic embroidery and crystal and pearl beading. Her birdcage veil was scattered with rhinestones and secured with a feather fascinator. She carried a purple and white bouquet of roses, lilies and feathers.

Lauren Rashae Cahall of Maumelle served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Jamie Richardson of North Little Rock; Whitney Wilson of Texarkana, Texas; Andrea Willaford of Maumelle;

and Courtney Hastings of Sherwood.

They wore eggplant-colored satin and organza cocktail dresses with sweetheart necklines and carried bouquets similar to the bride’s.

Serving as the groom’s honor attendants were his brothers, Evan John Mathews of Little Rock and Eric Christopher Mathews of Memphis. Groomsmen were Patrick Young of Little Rock, Braydn Johnson of Oklahoma City and Zach Cahall of Maumelle. Guests were seated by Nathaniel Paul Hastings of Sherwood, brother of the bride; and by the groomsmen.

Maddox Hastings of Sherwood, nephew of the bride, preceded her with a sign that reads “Here comes the bride.”

A reception at the Little Rock Club followed the ceremony. Guest tables were covered in purple and silver tablecloths and had centerpieces of either tall Eiffel Tower vases filled with large white feather arrangements or small cube vases with white pomander arrangements.

The bride has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, where she was philanthropy chairman of Psi Chi and a member of Kappa Delta Phi and is working toward a master’s degree in education. She is a seventh-grade literature teacher at Little Rock Christian Academy, assistant to the high school girl’s basketball coach and the Lady Warriors and is the basketball coordinator for school’s elementary program.

The groom has a bachelor’s degree in advertising and public relations from Texas Christian University’s College of Communication’s Bob Schieffer School of Journalism. He is owner of National Custom Hollow Metal.

The couple will make their home in Little Rock after a honeymoon in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
