Pet of the week

— Rex is the pet of the week. He is a handsome 9-month-old yellow Labrador mix with orange floppy ears and a curly tail. He is friendly, playful and very snuggly. Rex is great with other dogs, cats and children and has a medium energy level. He is learning manners in his foster home. Rex is kennel-trained and knows how to sit on command. He’s a smart, sweet dog who goes with the flow and would be a fun addition to any family. His big, brown eyes are irresistible.

Canine Close-Up Minnie was named for her oversized pink ears. She is a beautiful female, who is very friendly and playful and is also good with other dogs. As a 9-month-old bull terrier/Great Dane mix, she still has some growing to do.

Dee Dee is a 4-month-old Australian cattle dog/blue heeler/ shepherd mix who came to the shelter as a 15-pound stray. She is a friendly and playful pup who is thriving now that she is getting the attention she needs.

Heidi plays in her kennel. She pretends to be shy, but once you buy into her game, she comes out of her shell. Heidi is only about 3 months old, orange and white, with a short coat. Her floppy ears fold down over her forehead, making her even cuter when she’s playing “Now you see me, now you don’t.” Johnny is well-loved because heis so sweet and friendly. His black coat shines in the sun; it is impossible to resist petting him. Johnny is a little older than 1. He is listed as a Labrador, but based on how fast he can run, we think there is a little border collie in there somewhere, too.

Featured Felines Sloan is a 1-year-old mediumhaired light brown tabby. He’s very regal with a face that looks like he belongs in Greek mythology. Although he could have posed for a statue, he has a sweet personality.

Dink is a beautiful brown, cream and white Ragdoll. She’s 5 years old and is happiest lying on someone’s lap while being adored.

Ralph, Rafferty and Randy are sweet little 2 1/2-month-old black and white tuxedo brothers. They all have gorgeous long white whiskers and white feet. They’re all energy and love to wrestle with each other and play soccer with paper balls.

Grey Boy has a coat that isn’t really gray at all, but a beautiful shade of taupe. That and his aquamarine eyes make him absolutely stunning. Grey seems shy at first, but all this 3-year-old fellow needs is someone to touch him and he turns into a love machine.

Jesse is a 6-month-old Siamese mix who has never met a stranger. He has the funniest quizzical expression and when he is held, he looks you straight in the eye and gently taps your cheek with his paw.

Rex and friends can be adopted through Little Rock Animal Village. More information is available at 501-376-3067 and www.littlerockanimalvillage.org.
