— A janitor was found shot to death in the building where he worked, Searcy police said Monday.

Zachary Mitchell, 24, was found on the floor with a single gunshot wound to the chest after police were called to the scene about 8:20 p.m. Sunday, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene after being shot once in the left chest area, police spokesman Terri Lee said.

Authorities sent Mitchell’sbody to the state Crime Laboratory for an autopsy.

Police said they had no suspects as of Monday afternoon.

Two friends who had gone to see Mitchell at the building called 911, Lee said. Authorities said they think Lee was shot between 7 p.m. and 8:18 p.m. Sunday.

The body was found at Nephrology Associates, a Searcy business. Nephrologists specialize in treating kidney disorders.
