Trial delayed for man charged in firebombing

The trial of an Arkansas man charged in connection with an attack on an interracial couple’s home has been postponed.

Gary Dodson was to appear in federal court in Little Rock on Tuesday. His trial has been rescheduled for Dec. 6.

Authorities say Dodson and three other men plotted to firebomb an interracial couple’s home in Hardy and that some of the men threw Molotov cocktails at the home. The residence caught fire, but the couple wasn’t injured.

Dodson is charged with conspiracy to deny civil rights, along with several other charges.

The three other men pleaded guilty in the case earlier this year and a woman has pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice for trying to cover up the crime.

Dodson’s attorney didn’t immediately return a call for comment.
