41 Arkansas hospitals team up for stroke registry

Forty-one hospitals in Arkansas will join forces with the state Health Department and other organizations to create a stroke registry.

An announcement about the registry is set for Friday at the department's headquarters in Little Rock.

The participating hospitals will add information such as patient transport, diagnosis and treatment to the Arkansas Stroke Registry.

The goal of the database is to analyze ways to improve patient care and reduce stroke deaths and disability.

The Arkansas Acute Stroke Care Task Force and the American Heart Association are partnering with the hospitals and Health Department on the registry.
