Where I live: I live in The Rogers House, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, with Mike Luter in downtown Little Rock.

Occupation: For the past five years, we have opened the house for special events such as weddings, receptions, fundraisers, Christmas parties and class reunions. Our atmosphere is very relaxed and laid back (historicrogershouse. com).

My favorite space: Anywhere out in the yard but especially by the pool.

Why? I love swimming and playing water volleyball. Weather permitting, we’ve been playing almost every weekend since we installed the pool six years ago. Hundreds of people show up so it’s wall to-wall and we know about half of them. The rest are just friends of friends. I hate a dirty yard or pool so I’m out here every day taking care of the grounds and I clean the pool two or three times a day. I designed the Grecian-style pool to be only 4 feet deep, making it perfect for sports. There’s also a tanning shelf and hot tub at one end that spills over to the main pool. It’s really a relaxing place to spend time when I’m not cleaning it.

If I could do one thing to improve this space, I would: Do nothing. I’m pleased with the choices we made.
