How will you match/exceed/fall short of your success from last year: Thurman is in his first year of coaching at Pottsville. “We believe that the 2011-2012 season will be an exciting one,” he said. “This is a fresh start for me and the boys.”
Strengths of the team: quickness and depth
Weaknesses of the team: Thurman said his team needs to improve defensively. “We need to become a better renbounding team,” he said.
Games to watch: Thurman moved from Dardanelle, and named that game as one to watch as well as Clarksville, the defending state champion from the 4-4A Conference.
In a nutshell: “If we come together as a team and develop a collective, defensive conscience, we could have a great year,” Thurman said. “Our goal is to compete with the best teams in Class 4A.”
