Conque to speak at weekly meeting

Central Arkansas Coach Clint Conque will speak at noon today at the Little Rock Touchdown Club in the Embassy Suites hotel.

Conque is in his 12th season at UCA, including two seasons of at least 10 victories. Conque is 77-39 since 2001.

Annual membership to the club is $50. Lunch, which begins at 11 a.m., is $15 for members and $25 for non-members.

Cost of attendance is $10.

Arkansas State wins on senior day

Arkansas State beat Louisiana-Monroe 27-25, 24-26, 25-8, 25-14 on Sunday in Jonesboro.

Arkansas State has won all eight of its matches at home, the first time the team has done so since 2004.

Jasmine Terry had 13 kills and Taylor Syzpulski finished with 12 kills and 8 digs. Megan Baska paced the defense with 17 digs.

UALR falls at home

UALR lost to Louisiana-Lafayette 25-13, 39-37, 27-25, 25-14, 8-15 on Sunday in Little Rock.

Edina Begic led UALR with 31 kills and 22 digs. Eva Xie added 12 kills.

TENNIS

Arkansas’ Jeske falls in final

Arkansas sophomore Manfred Jeske lost 6-2, 6-2 to Auburn’s Daniel Cochrane in the finals Sunday at the UNLV Invite in Las Vegas.

The Razorbacks completed the tournament with a 6-5 record in singles and a 3-2 record in doubles. Jeske earned three victories.
