Get real (TV, that is)

Although he never experienced reality TV, pop artist Andy Warhol is looking more prophetic by the day, Michael Storey writes in Tuesday’s Style section.

In 1968 Warhol opined, “In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes.” Warhol’s famous folks now include backwoods snake wranglers, good ol’ boy ’gator wrestlers and small town taxidermists who’ll freeze dry your dead Chihuahua.

Not to mention an Arkansas couple who’ve churned out enough kids for two softball teams plus the batboy.

Reality TV is relatively cheap to produce and has gotten exceedingly creative in order to fill the empty hours high up on the cable dial. How did it ever come to this?
