Actress Jennifer Hudson takes stand in family murder trial

CHICAGO — Jennifer Hudson has taken the stand in the trial of the man accused of killing her family.
Hudson took the stand Monday in the trial of William Balfour. He is accused of killing the Oscar winner’s mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew.
Balfour has pleaded not guilty to three counts of first-degree murder in the October 2008 slayings.
Prosecutors say he became enraged that Hudson’s sister, his estranged wife, had begun dating someone else.
