LITTLE ROCK — The Van Buren County Sheriff's Office says a school employee charged in the sexual assault of a teenager is expected to be arrested Friday.
In a statement, Sheriff Scott Bradley said a warrant had been received for the arrest of 35-year-old Shawna Ward on a charge of first-degree sexual assault.
Ward, of Bee Branch, was an employee of South Side School when a report of the purported incident was made to the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division in early March, police said. The victim is a 17-year-old male, according to Bradley's statement.
No other details about the crime were immediately known.
