UA names 5 as Sturgis Fellows

— The J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville has selected five incoming freshmen to receive the university's Sturgis Fellowship.

This fellowship awards each recipient with $12,500 per year for four years, a news release states.

The scholarship will cover tuition, room and board, and support for educational tools, musical instruments, professional journals and participation at educational conferences.

The university said the 2012 Sturgis Fellows are: Daniel Key of Mountain Home; Samantha "Sammi" Mason of Norman, Okla.; Cole Plunkett of Van Buren; Alison "Ali" Schroeder of Overland Park, Kan.; and Hilary Zedlitz of Rogers.
