— A release from the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department stated that maintenance crews will be mowing the grass next week along Highway 70 in Garland County, requiring a lane closure.

The work will occur Monday in a passing zone in the westbound lanes, requiring an outside lane to be closed, and continue through Friday with the lane closure in effect from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, weather permitting.

Motorists are asked to exercise caution while driving in this area.

Mowing in December? What are they mowing, winter wheat? Surely something more productive and less disruptive could be for the equipment and workforce involved. Some wonder why we are so in debt.
