HARRISON A 74-year-old Harrison man has been acquitted on a murder charge in the shooting death of his stepson.
The Harrison Daily Times reported that a Boone County Circuit Court jury deliberated about two-and-a-half hours Thursday before finding Bob Eubanks innocent in the October 2011 death of 26-year-old John Eubanks.
Bob Eubanks says his stepson was intoxicated and threatening him when he shot him in self-defense outside a motel in Harrison owned by Bob Eubanks.
Prosecutors argued that John Eubanks was lying on the ground when his stepfather shot him.
Eubanks said after the trial that he is “relieved” by the verdict.

When are reporters going to wise up about jury verdicts? No jury ever finds anyone "innocent". The verdict can only be "guilty" or "not guilty". The defendent is always "presumed innocent' until proven guilty.
