McCready's son to stay in foster care in Arkansas, for now

— Country music star and Arkansas native Mindy McCready's son will stay in Arkansas for the time being.

According to an article on Florida's NBC2 television website, McCready's 5-year-old son, Zander, is in foster care in the state after Mindy McCready brought him to Arkansas against a court order.

The report also states that Zander's father, Billy McKnight, disagreed with a new plan that would allow Zander to move back to Florida within 90 days and be placed in foster care, mainly due to the fact that the deal includes overnight visits with McCready, while McKnight would still have supervised visits until he completes a substance abuse evaluation.

The Arkansas Department of Human Services believes that it's in the child's best interest to stay in foster care, the report added, though the court order is not binding in Arkansas.
