Three people were arrested Saturday after refusing to leave the Tri-County Rodeo Arena and fighting with deputies, according to a Pulaski County sheriff’s office report.

At 10:50 p.m., more than four hours after the rodeo began at 27605 Arkansas 365 in Hensley, Sgt. Jim Potter, who was working off-duty, was told there was a fight near the west bleachers, the report said. Several witnesses told authorities that Marcos Rueda of Little Rock suffered a head wound in a fight. Rueda refused medical attention, the report said.

Other fights began breaking out in the area.

Rueda; Javier Diaz-Campos, 35, of Little Rock; and Antonio Diaz-Campos, 40, of Little Rock, refused to leave the arena, the report said.

The report said that Javier Diaz-Campos resisted arrest by pushing and swinging his fists. Potter began kicking him in the chest and hit him in his head and upper body to subdue him, the report said.

Antonio Diaz-Campos grabbed Potter from behind to pin his arms, the report said, and Potter kicked and elbowed Antonio Diaz-Campos in the face.

Other deputies were called to the scene, as well as assistance from Saline County, Arkansas State Police and Little Rock Police.

After being shocked with a stun gun several times, Javier Diaz-Campos and Antonio Diaz-Campos were arrested on charges of public intoxication, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and third-degree assault.

The report said Javier Diaz-Campos was also charged with attempting to influence a public servant for telling a deputy, “If you arrest me, I’ll have you fired. I will take everything you have. Do you like your job?”

Antonio Diaz-Campos was also charged with interfering with a law enforcement officer.

During the scuffle, Potter said in the report, Louis Pena, 26, of Memphis, threw a beer bottle that hit him in the arm. Pena was arrested on charges of public intoxication, disorderly conduct and third-degree battery on a law enforcement officer.

Rueda was cited and released on allegations of obstruction of governmental operations and disorderly conduct, the report said.

Javier and Antonio Diaz-Campos and Pena were being held at the Pulaski County jail Sunday. No bail had been set.
