BLACKFISH — The St. Francis County sheriff’s office is investigating the drowning of a 6-year-old boy.
Authorities say Chance Anderson disappeared Sunday night from his home in the Blackfish area. His father told authorities that he found the boy near the edge of a pond.
Authorities say the boy’s father pulled his son from the water and performed CPR until emergency officials arrived, but the child died.
Sheriff Bobby May told the Times-Herald that the death is under investigation but that authorities believe it was an accidental drowning.
May said it appears Chance wandered out of the yard and into the pond.
