Eight face federal indictment for heroin

— Eight individuals were indicted on federal charges that they conspired to distribute heroin.

A release from the U.S. Department of Justice announced the indictments on the eight facing the charges, ranging from ages 19-40.

The men were conspiring to distribute or to possess with the intent to distribute more than 100 grams of heroin from May 1, 2011 to June 26, 2012. The distribution resulted in two deaths, according to the release.

Six of the eight have been arrested. Two men, Keith "Key" Sanders, 25, and Landon Cope, 21, are still at large.

If convicted, the individuals face anywhere from five to 20 years, depending on the charge.
