Forestry Commission lowers fire danger level

— The Arkansas Forestry Commission has lowered the wildfire danger from extreme to high in parts of the state because of scattered rain and higher humidity.

The agency on Friday said that means the whole state is at high wildfire risk. Earlier this week, the agency had upped the fire risk for counties in central Arkansas and points west, north and northwest.

About 60 of Arkansas’ 75 counties are under burn bans.
