GREEN FOREST — A 63-year-old man was arrested on drug and forgery charges after a probation officer making visit to the man's home saw gear for making counterfeit money.
Green Forest police say counterfeit bills had been circulating at area businesses recently and investigators were able to get a description of a suspect.
Green Forest Police Chief John Bailey told the Harrison Daily Times that the case came together when an officer accompanied a probation officer on a visit to the home of Austin Alexander.
Bailey said that counterfeiting equipment was in plain sight in Alexander's home. Police searched the residence and said they found drugs, drug paraphernalia and fake currency.
Alexander was being held at the Carroll County jail in lieu of $15,000 bond. It was unclear whether he had an attorney.
