— Abigail Elise Overacre and James Christopher Davis were united in marriage at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 21, in Fellowship Bible Church. The Rev. Bill Wellons officiated.

Gail and Dr. Robert L. Overacre, 23 Menden Lane, are the parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of the late Jeanne and Lt. Col. Robert Overacre of Little Rock and the late Dorothy and Marlin T. Riggs of Monroe, Okla.

The groom is the son of Lisa and Richard Wills of Germantown, Tenn., and Jackie and James Davis of Memphis. His grandparents are the late Doris Ann and James D. Davis and the late Juanita and Herbert W. Joyce, all also of Memphis.

The chancel held a unity candle surrounded by wedding flowers. Music was by the Little Rock String Quartet.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an organza and satin gown covered in English net and Alencon lace with a sweetheart neckline adorned with a crystal-and-pearl medallion. She carried a bouquet of open garden roses, succulents, ranunculus and peonies.

Serving as the bride’s honor attendants were Kristine E. Page of San Diego, sister of the bride, and Madelyn G. Randolph of Tulsa. Bridesmaids were Ashley Zumwalt of Choctaw, Okla.; Kristine Malter of Springfield, Mo.; and Ajenda Johnson of Duncan, Okla.

They wore moss green silk-taffeta cocktail dresses in various styles and carried bouquets of hydrangeas, succulents and hybrid ranunculus.

Flower girl and ring bearer were Emma and Ashton Morgan of Memphis.

Best man was Shawn Willoughby of Olive Branch, Miss., cousin of the groom. Groomsmen were Grant Page of San Diego; Sammie Wicks of Memphis; Ronnie White of St. Louis; and Jarrett Tate of Athens, Ga.

Guests were seated by Kristian Hatfield, nephew of the groom; Eddie Weber, cousin of the groom; Scott Brown and L. McLean House, all also of Memphis.

A reception at the Junior League of Little Rock building followed the ceremony. The buffet held a brown urn of flowers in bridal colors with extensions of sumac branches and hanging candles. Some guest tables held vases filled with antique-green hydrangeas, succulents and extensions of sumac branches and hanging candles. Other guest tables had Warsaw vases with cascades of hydrangeas and white Dutch stock.

The bride is a cum laude graduate of the University of Oklahoma at Norman, with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and biochemistry. She is working toward a doctorate at the University of Tennessee and is a graduate research assistant at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.

The groom is a cum laude graduate of Rhodes College in Memphis, with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, and is a third-year medical student at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis.

The couple will reside in Memphis after a wedding trip to Isla Mujeres, Mexico.
