Police: Man fatally run over after argument

— A 55-year-old Dierks man was fatally run over after he got out of a pickup during an argument Sunday in Lockesburg, authorities said.

Arkansas State Police say Robert Wilbanks was arguing with 47-year-old Bobbie Wilbanks, both of 210 Arkansas Blvd. in Dierks, when Robert Wilbanks exited the GMC pickup around 12:20 p.m. on Highway 24.

According to a preliminary police report, the pickup then ran over Robert Wilbanks. He was pronounced dead at De Queen Regional Medical Center about an hour later.

Bobbie Wilbanks was arrested and booked into the Sevier County jail late Sunday night on a charge of second-degree murder, an Arkansas State Police spokesman said.

"Ms. Wilbanks stated that Robert Wilbanks had stopped the vehicle and ordered her out of the vehicle at which time she slid under the steering wheel in an attempt to leave and struck Robert Wilbanks ... " police spokesman Bill Sadler said in an email.
