BENTON — Authorities are investigating Monday the death of a woman whose body was found in the Ouachita National Forest.
Saline County Sheriff Bruce Pennington said Monday that the body was found by a civilian at 11 a.m. Sunday.
The remains were sent to the Arkansas Crime Laboratory for an autopsy.
Pennington didn’t release further details and didn’t say how the woman died. He said more information may be released later.
Arkansas Game and Fish Commission wildlife officers also responded to the scene.
